Zella Frances Edwards Bartenfield, 93, of Asheboro, died Sunday, November 16, 2014 at The Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro, after a brief illness. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 pm, Wednesday, November 19, 2014, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Asheboro, NC.. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. Born in Guilford County, NC, on September 26, 1921, Mrs. Bartenfield was the daughter of the late Walter and Mary Hassell Edwards. She was a member of Oakhurst Baptist Church and was retired from General Electric. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bartenfield was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Bartenfield, her sister, Gladys Curtis, and brothers, Kenneth Edwards, Livingston Edwards and Beauford Edwards Mrs. Bartenfield is survived by several nieces and nephews.
