Zeb Thrower

Royce Zeb Thrower Sr., 78, of Asheboro, NC died Thursday, June 12, 2014, at this home. A native of Guilford County, Mr. Thrower was born to the late Pauline Cornie White Thrower and Edwin Kenneth Thrower, August 2, 1935 in High Point, NC. Married to Tiffany Louise Suttle- Thrower, and predeceased by Deborah Childress Thrower and Jean Staley Thrower, mother of his four sons. He was predeceased by his sister, Gail Thrower Cooke and brother-in-law Harold Cooke of Greensboro, NC. Zeb is survived by his sister Joan Thrower Grimsley and her husband, Edward of Columbia, South Carolina. Zeb graduated from High Point Central High School 1953 and attended NC State and graduated from Elon College in 1957. Zeb was an inspector at Klaussner Furniture and furniture drafter and supervisor for many years at the family-owned Founders Furniture Co., which later merged with Thomasville Furniture Industries. Zeb was an avid golfer and played in many tournaments with his best-friend Mike Thompson. Mr. Thrower enjoyed basketball and bowling. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Zeb is survived by four sons and daughter-in-laws: Daryl L. Thrower, of Easton Maryland; Royce Z. Thrower, Jr. and Eleanor of Charlotte, NC; William D. Thrower and Sheila S. of Pleasant Garden, NC; John Eric Thrower and Maicel of Charlotte, NC. Also surviving are steps-daughters Bryanna McJunkin, Dakata McPherson, Step-sons, Brian James McJunkin and Brian James McPherson. He also is survived by four grandchildren, Bridget M. Thrower, Sarah E. Thrower, her husband, Brian Popovich, Liam D. Thrower and Kenneth A. Thrower and one great grandson, Aidan Thrower.
