Winfred "Wimp" Smith

Mr. Winfred "Wimp"� Bernice Smith, 72, of Asheboro, NC, died Thursday, December 9, 2010, at his residence. A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am Saturday, December 11, 2010, at Mt. View Independent Methodist Church with the Rev. Ray Swaney officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A native of Stokes County, NC, Mr. Smith was born December 9, 1938. He was the son of the late Carvis "Cob"� Smith and Gladis Mabe Smith. Mr. Smith was retired from the NC Department of Transportation. Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Sarah Smith, of the home; sons, Christopher Smith and wife, Donna, of Asheboro, Charles Smith and fiancée, Kathy Walker, of Asheboro; grandchildren, Kayla Smith and Dylan Smith. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am - 11:00 am Saturday, December 11, 2010, at Mt. View Independent Methodist Church and other times at the home.
