Winfred Flynt

Mr. Winfred Melvin Flynt, 87, of Asheboro, NC, died Thursday, August 23, 2012, at Best of Care Assisted Living. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Sunday, August 26, 2012, at Balfour Baptist Church with Rev. Kenneth Reaves officiating. A graveside service will follow at 5:00 pm at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Madison. A native of Stokes County, NC, Mr. Flynt was born June 19, 1925. He was the son of the late Walter Manning Flynt and Nita Mary Reid Flynt. He was a member and past master of Balfour Lodge # 188. In addition to his parents, Mr. Flynt was preceded in death by his sister Eloise Shaffer and brother Leo Flynt. Mr. Flynt is survived by his wife, Ruth Joyce Flynt; daughters, Tonia Russell and husband, Steve, of Kannapolis, NC, Amy Bower and husband, Gary, of Asheboro, NC; sister, Nita Sands and husband, Lenzie, of Madison, NC; and Grandchildren, Taylor Coble, Elizabeth and Joseph Russell. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Saturday, August 25, 2012, at Ridge Funeral Home.
