Wilson Edward Garner

Wilson Edward Garner, 87, of Asheboro, died Sunday, January 24, 2021, at Cone Health Green Valley Hospital in Greensboro. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Asheboro, with Rev. Gary Mason officiating. Burial will be private in Oaklawn Cemetery. The service will be livestreamed at Ridge Funeral Home's official Facebook page. Born in Orange County, NC on September 9, 1933, Wilson was the son of the late William Elzie Garner and Cora Bell Wallace Garner. He was the retired owner and operator of Garner's Plumbing. Wilson was a member of of Asheboro United Church of Christ and attended West Asheboro Baptist Church. He also served in the US Navy during the Korean war. He loved his family, especially his grandson, Aaron. In addition to his parents, Wilson was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Rose Brown Garner. Surviving are his son, Andy Garner and wife Linda of Asheboro; grandson, Aaron Garner and wife Danielle of Asheboro.
