Willie J. Key

Willie Jay Key, 88, of Asheboro, died Thursday, October 5, 2017 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Memorial services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, October 8, 2017, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Asheboro. Officiating will be Mr. Charles Reeder. A native of Surry Co., NC, Mr. Key was born September 4, 1929 the son of the late Oliver and Lillian Key. He was retired from Piedmont Electric Machine and Welding. He was a machinist and shop forman. He was a member of The Gold Wing Road Riders Association of Asheboro. He was a loving dad, grandfather and great grandfather. In addition to his parents, Mr. Key was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Moore Key. Survivors include his daughters, Betty Staley and husband, Ron, Linda Staley, all of Liberty, NC; son, Jimmy Key and wife, Freda, of Asheboro, NC; grandchildren, Amy Jordan, Brandi Baisley, Jeremy Key, Brad Key and fiancé, Bobbie Kyle and her daughter, Scarlett; great grandchildren, Kayle Jordan, Rebecca Jordan, Natalie Baisley, and Ace Baisley. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 8, 2017, from 2:00 p.m. until 3 :00 p.m., at Ridge Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to The Randolph Hospice House, P.O. Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204.
