Willie Dyle Cagle, Sr., 100, of Denton, died Friday, July 3, 2020, at Alpine Health and Rehabilitation in Asheboro. Private services will be held at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 with Rev. Bobby Lorton officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope United Methodist Church, Denton. Military honors will be provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. A native of Randolph Co., NC, Mr. Cagle was born August 29, 1919, the son of the late William Reid Cagle and Betty B. Cranford Cagle. He was retired from Klopman Mills and was also a farmer. He was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church where he sung with the Goodwill Quartet and the Redeemed Quartet. Mr. Cagle served in the US Navy on the U.S.S. St. Paul Battleship during World War II. In addition to his parents, Mr. Cagle was preceded in death by his first wife, Ila Mae Staley Cagle, son, Jerry Wayne Cagle; daughters in law, Jean Cagle, Odette Cagle; brothers, John Cagle, Paul Cagle, Glen Cagle; sisters, Nora Smith and Polly Boyles. Mr. Cagle is survived by his wife, Martha Dorsett Cagle; sons, Robert "Bob" Neal Cagle and wife Louise, Willie Dyle Cagle, Jr.; grandchildren, Wayne Cagle, Lisa Bunting, Wanda Cagle, Neal Cagle, Brent Cagle, Kerry Vanover, Kimberly Sarks; 13 great grandchildren; and 10 great-great grandchildren. Mr. Cagle's body will lie in state at Ridge Funeral Home on Monday, July 6, 2020, from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m.
