William "Sonny" Trotter

William Otis "Sonny" Trotter, 75, of Asheboro, died Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 13, 2016, at Mountain View Independent Methodist Church with Rev. Brian Hauk officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A native of Randolph County, Mr. Trotter was born January 30, 1941 to the late Clifford and Mary Trotter. He graduated from Farmer High School in 1959 and was retired from Kayser Roth. A lifelong member of Mountain View Independent Methodist Church, Mr. Trotter was song leader and a member of the board. He was also a member of the Hunt Family Singers. In addition to his parents, Mr. Trotter was preceded in death by his brothers, Ronald and Kenneth Trotter. He is survived by his wife, Eula Mae Hunt Trotter of the home; son, Rodney Trotter and wife, Sherrie of Asheboro; sisters, Bonnie Davis of Archdale, Martha Gordon of Thomasville, Patricia McDowell of Asheboro and Mary Lou Barringer and husband, Zeb of Thomasville; grandchildren, Shane Trotter, Cameron Trotter, Katheryn Trotter; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, August 12, 2016 at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
