William "Bill" Schwan

Mr. William Joseph "Bill" Schwan, 90, of Randleman, NC, died Thursday, November 15, 2012, at The Randolph Hospice House. A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am Saturday, November 17, 2012, at Covenant Christian Church with Bishop Donnie Bledsoe officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro. Military honors will be provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. A native of Brantford County, ON, Mr. Schwan was born August 22, 1922. He was the son of the late Herbert Otto Schwan and Vivian Louise Brand Schwan. He was a member of Covenant Christian Church where he was a Sunday school supervisor and teacher, an ordained teacher and treasurer. Mr. Schwan served in the US Air Force during World War II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Schwan. Mr. Schwan is survived by his daughters, Kay S. Kiser and husband, Rick, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Hilda Hill and husband, Barry, of Asheboro, NC; sons, Joseph Schwan and wife, Sandra, of Winston Salem, NC, Gary Schwan, of Charleston, SC, Michael Schwan, of High Point, NC, Charles Tedder, of Trinity, NC, Toby Tedder, of Asheboro, NC; sisters-in-law, Lois Johnson, of Randleman, NC, Brenda Crotts, of Hamstead, NC; grandchildren, Angie Sexton, Chad Tedder, Mary Caroline Kiser, Natalie Curtis, William Kiser, John Schwan, Kim York, Gary Schwan, Jr.; great grandchildren, Meredith Tedder, Ireland Sexton and Nichols Tedder, Olivia Lunceford, Brandon York, Kaitlin York and Melissa Lunceford. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Friday, November 16, 2012, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
