William Ronald Pierce

William Ronald Pierce, 85, of Denton, passed away Friday, July 17, 2026, at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 20, 2026, at Old Fashion Baptist Church, 3823 Richey Road, Denton, with Pastor Frankie Royal officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard.

Born on August 26, 1940, in Randolph County, NC, Ronald was the son of the late Walter Farris and Mary Tew Pierce. Ronald retired after 30 years as a truck driver and was a member of Old Fashion Baptist Church. He was a board member with the Farmer Fire Department. Ronald proudly served in the US Army.

In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by his son, William Patrick Pierce; grandson, Chase Benten Killingsworth; sister and brother-in-law, Ruth Pierce Yates and Jim Yates; and mother-in-law, Beatrice H. Harris.

Surviving are his wife of 34 years, Nettie Harris Pierce; children, Daphne A. Pierce (Rollin), Dwayne A. Pierce (Rhonda), Stacey E. Rider (Curtis), Tami H. Quick; grandchildren, Katie Dixon (Bryan), Brittany Stillwell (Tyler), Desiree Illar, Brandon Quick (Heather), Staci Talbott (Dusty), Aaron Rider (Haley), Brian Rider (Brittany), Bradley Rider (Haley), Colby Rider (Jenna); 19 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 12:45 until 1:45 p.m., Monday, prior to the service at the church.
