William (Bill) Ridge

William "Bill" Eugene Ridge, 90, of Greensboro, formerly of Asheboro, died Saturday, August 10, 2019 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, August 15, 2019, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Edward Lecates and Rev. Barry Whitaker officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Asheboro. Born on April 9, 1929 in Randolph Co., Bill was the son of the late David Ridge and Pallie Hammond Ridge. He worked at Laughlin Hosiery Mill in Randleman for 30 years and later retired from Belks. He was a member of Piedmont Bible Church in Thomasville. Bill enjoyed woodworking and restoring antique chandeliers and antique picture frames. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded by his sons, Allen Eugene Ridge, James "Jimmy" Lee Ridge; brother, George "Buck" Ridge; sisters, Reba Owens and Peggy Rush. He is survived by his wife, Edith Keeling Ridge of the home; daughter, Teresa Ann Ridge (Tom Brekovsky) of Greensboro; sisters, Helen Garner, Linda Bayse, Judy Cranford; grandchildren, Crystal Ridge Hazelwood (Joey), Brent Ridge (Josh Killmer-Percell), Jonathan Ridge (Britteny Tompkins); great grandchildren, Lindsay Hazelwood, Zack Hazelwood, Makinna Ridge and Taylor Ridge. The family will receive friends at Ridge Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 14, 2019, and other times at the home.
