William Joseph Jarrell, 93, of Asheboro, died Sunday, January 31, 2021 at Universal Healthcare in Ramseur. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 4, 2021, at Oaklawn Cemetery with Rev. Frank Barrett officiating. Military Honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. A native of Randolph County, Mr. Jarrell was born on October 10, 1927, to the late Frank Henry Jarrell and Beatrice Croaker Jarrell. He served in the U.S. Army, and attended Fayetteville Baptist Church. Later in life, William spend his time making pottery and golfing with Dot. He enjoyed riding motorcycles with his friend, Vann McGill. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Gladys Beane, Julia Howell, and Bobby Jarrell. William is survived by his sons, Howard Jarrell and wife Rita, David Jarrell and wife Adrianne, Terry Jarrell and wife Grace; sister, Barbara Nance; grandchildren, Jason Lynn Jarrell, Taylor Smith Jarrell, Thomas Lee McGregor; and great grandson, Mason Jarrell. Mr. Jarrell will lie in repose from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 3, 2021, at Ridge Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph, 416 Vision Drive, Asheboro, NC 27203.
