Wesley Mcdowell

Mr. Wesley Ray McDowell, 57, of Asheboro, NC, died Monday, December 19, 2011, at The Randolph Hospice House. A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 21, 2011, at Back Creek Friends Meeting with Pastor Jon Reece, Rev. Billy Britt and Rev. Michael Fulp officiating. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mr. McDowell was born October 8, 1954. Wes was a longtime member of Back Creek Friends Meeting, served in various capacities including: Clerk of Ministry & Counsel, member of finance committee, sang in the church choir, served as a Sunday school teacher and was a Sunday morning worship leader among many additional ministries within the church. He enjoyed woodworking, sports and was a lifelong North Carolina Tarheel fan. Mr. McDowell was preceded in death by his father, Edgar Ray McDowell. Mr. McDowell is survived by his wife, Annice C. McDowell, of the home; mother, Dorothy Garner McDowell, of Asheboro; daughters, Katherine Lynn Theodorou and husband Michael, of Palominas, AZ, Miranda Ann Rowe and husband Timothy, of Newport, NC; step-daughter, Kristi Jill Bunting, of Greensboro, NC; grandchildren, Kayla, Sydney and Davis. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 21, 2011, at Back Creek Friends Meeting.
