Waymond Beane, 95, of Asheboro, NC, died Saturday, May 27, 2017 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 29, 2017, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Asheboro, with Rev. David Rollins officiating. The burial will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 30, 2017, Randolph Memorial Park. Military honors will be provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. A native of Montgomery County, NC, Mr. Beane was born May 8, 1922, the son of the late Ernest and Mary Cooper Beane. He was retired from Union Carbide (Energizer) after 36 years of service. Mr. Beane served in the US Army 102nd Infantry, Ozark Division, 379 Battalion during World War II. He loved gardening, hunting, reading the paper and his Bible, and seeing his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved push mowing his yard and quit at 85 years of age. He also enjoyed going out to eat breakfast with Al Tate, his caregiver. In addition to his parents, Mr. Beane was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years and the love of his life, Mary Moore Beane, brother, Curt Beane, and sister, Jean Gagne. Survivors include his son, Charles Beane and wife Barbara, of Asheboro; daughter, Ronda Maness and husband Jim, of North Myrtle Beach, SC; sister, Dorothy Luck, of Asheboro, grandchildren, David Smith and wife Julie, of Raleigh, Brian Beane and wife Christy, of Clemmons, Amy Sykes and husband Mitchell, of Asheboro; great-grandchildren, Jenna, Charlie, Kelsey, Abby, Maddison, Avery; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday, at Ridge Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to The Randolph Hospice House, P.O. Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204.
