Walter Anthony "Tony" Sharp

Mr. Walter Anthony "Tony"� Sharp, 64, of 2810 Hulin McDowell Road, Denton, NC, died Saturday, August 21, 2010 at his home. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Tuesday, August 24, 2010, at the Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Barry Wall and the Rev. W.C. Linthicum officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Union Community Church Cemetery. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mr. Sharp was born September 7, 1945, the son of the late Harold and Gladys Wright Sharp. He was a member of the NC Sheriff's Association and the National Rifle Association. In addition to his parents, Mr. Sharp was preceded in death by his brother, John Edward Sharp. He served in the US Army during Vietnam. Surviving are his wife, Betsy Sexton Sharp, of the home; sons, Jason Sharp and wife, Myra, of Denton, Jesse Sharp and wife, Sharon, of Asheboro; brother, Harold Lee Sharp, of Asheboro; and grandchildren, Abbie Sharp and Lillee Sharp. The family will receive friends at Ridge Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Monday, August 23, 2010, and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph, P.O.
