Walter Bruce Hunt, 86, of Randleman, died Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Randleman Friends Meeting, with Pastor Ray Luther officiating. A burial will be held at Abbotts Creek Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
A native of Forsyth Co., Walter was born on August 23, 1938, the son of the late Charles Clifton Hunt and Lola Matilda Browne Hunt. Walter retired from Burlington Industries, and he had honorably served in the United States Navy. He enjoyed making and giving out sauerkraut. He also loved old convertible cars. Walter enjoyed going to the mountains and the beach. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
In addition to his parents, Walter was preceded in death by his brothers, James David Hunt and Charles Von Hunt.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Rebecca Hunt of the home; daughters, Debbie Sykes and husband Garry of Trinity, Donise Reyes and husband Chris of Kernersville; son, Clif "CM" Hunt of Randleman; grandchildren, Nora Sykes, Payton Reyes, Grayson Reyes, Rylan Reyes; great grandchild, Cedar Grubb; several nieces and nephews; and grand-dog, "Oliver".
The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Randleman Police Department, and to Hospice of Randolph for the care and kindness shown to Walter.
