Mr. Walker Lee Moody, 83, of Asheboro, NC, died Saturday, June 15, 2013, at his residence. A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am Monday, June 17, 2013, at Balfour Baptist Church with Rev. Kenneth Reaves and Rev. Derrick Moody officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro. Military honors will be provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. A native of Chatham County, NC, Mr. Moody was born January 10, 1930. He was the son of the late Charlie Edwin Moody and Willard Anne Walters Moody. He was a graduate of Bonlee High School class of 1948. Mr. Moody served in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked as an industrial insulator for over 40 years, was a member of the Insulators Union, Local 72, and was a member of Balfour Baptist Church. He was an Atlanta Braves fan and enjoyed watching games with his grandkids. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Gary C. Moody; brothers, Charlie W. Moody, Duffy Moody, and Tommy Moody. Mr. Moody is survived by his wife, Rea Dunlap Moody; sons, Ritchie Moody and wife, Billie, of Asheboro, NC, Dean Moody, of Virginia Beach, VA, Jeff Moody, of Huntersville, NC, Tim Moody and wife, Cynthia, of Asheboro, NC; sister, Sue Anne Moody Gunter, of Siler City, NC; brothers, Bobby Moody, of Siler City, NC, Jimmy Moody, of Siler City, NC; daughter-in-law, Jane Moody, of Asheboro, NC; grandchildren, Bryan Moody and wife, Ashley, Mandee Moody, Anne Moody, Mary Moody, Karen Moody, Jami Moody, Kory Moody, Rose Moody, Julia Moody; great grandchildren, Montgomery Moody and Tess Moody; as well as several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Sunday, June 16, 2013, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
