Virginia Jane Lewallen Weeks, 93, of Asheboro, passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2016 following several months of declining health. Funeral services will held at Neighbors Grove Wesleyan Church on Monday, January 18, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Wyat Hoogkamp and Rev. Eddie Hill officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park. Virginia was born in Randolph County, NC on April 1, 1922 to W. E. and Cisrie Jane Lewallen. She was retired from Dick Weeks Construction Company. A lifelong fan of bluegrass music, her favorite activity during retirement were the trips to see Raymond Fairchild perform in Maggie Valley. Over the years she became personal friends with Raymond and his wife Shirley as well as many other performers at Maggie Valley Opry House. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, H. A. "Dick" Weeks and her son, Ronnie Hill. Surviving are her daughter, Linda Camp (Bobby), of Asheboro, sister, Helen Lewallen Lucas, of Asheboro, five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Sunday, January 17, 2016 at Ridge Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. and other times at the home of her daughter. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
