Virginia Burke Vuncannon

Mrs. Virginia Dare Burke Vuncannon, 79, of Asheboro, NC, died Tuesday, September 3, 2013, at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Friday, September 6, 2013, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Johnny Harvell officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mrs. Vuncannon was born June 18, 1934. She was the daughter of the late Frank Scott Burke and Sarah Shirley Pittman Burke. She was a homemaker and her family meant everything to her. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Vuncannon was preceded in death by her husband, George V. Vuncannon. Mrs. Vuncannon is survived by sons, Terry Vuncannon and wife Janice Gatton-Vuncannon, of Greensboro, NC, Randy Vuncannon and wife, Sue Vuncannon, of Asheboro, NC: grandchildren, Doug Vuncannon, Donnie Vuncannon, Scott Vuncannon, Sarah Vuncannon; and great grandchild, Hope Vuncannon. The family will receive friends from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm Thursday, September 5, 2013, at Ridge Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Randolph, PO Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204.
