Viola Freeman, 85, of Asheboro, died Friday, June 10, 2016 at her home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 12, 2016, at Asheboro Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Ed Burns and Dr. Tommy Fuquay officiating. Burial will follow at Ether United Methodist Church Cemetery. Born February 11, 1931 in Montgomery County, Mrs. Freeman was the daughter of the late Herman and Mary Blake. She had worked at Bossong Hosiery and retired from Acme McCrary. She attended MTI in Troy and received her certified nursing assistant certificate and worked with Personal Care until the age of 81. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas G. Freeman; daughter, Judy Ann Warren; and brother, Curtis Blake. Mrs. Freeman is survived by her daughters, Rose Mary McRae and husband, Charles and Kena Sue Hayes and husband, Jerry, all of Asheboro; son, Tommy L. Freeman and wife, Jolene, of Denton; sisters, Clara Williams of Biscoe, Betty Kiser of Spring Lake, Shirley Jarrell of Asheboro, Louvene McBride of Danville, VA; brother, James Blake of San Carlos, CA., seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Ridge Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph County, PO Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204. The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of Randolph County and All Generations Home Care for the care given to our mother.
