Vincent Roman Wieczorek, 85, of Asheboro, died Friday, June 25, 2021, at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. A memorial service will be held at a later date in New York. Born in Brooklyn, New York on February 9, 1936, Vincent was the son of the late Michael Wieczorek and Jane Figler Wieczorek. He lived in New Suffolk, Long Island, NY until 1993 when he and his wife, Eleanor, moved to New Bern, NC. In 2002 they relocated to Asheboro to be closer to family. Vincent served in the US Navy during the Korean war. He was a Tin Can Sailor on the USS Dashiell. He was the Fire Chief and Commissioner for the town of Cutchogue in Long Island, NY. He was also a salesman for Motorola Corporation. Vincent enjoyed boating and fishing. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Eleanor M. Wieczorek; children, Vincent M. Wieczorek, Patrice M. Wieczorek, Douglas G. Wieczorek, Kara A. Demarest and husband Jeff; grandchildren, Douglas P Wieczorek, David E. Wieczorek and McKenna J. Demarest. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph, 416 Vision Drive, Asheboro, NC 27203.
