Vera Thompson Hackett

Mrs. Vera Edith Yates Thompson Hackett, 88, of Asheboro, NC, died Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at Woodland Hills Care & Rehabilitation Center. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mrs. Hackett was born March 15, 1924. She was the daughter of the late Orlendo Coy Yates and Margaret Louvenie Hunsucker Yates. She was a former employee of Holiday Inn in Asheboro. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hackett was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter Ray Thompson, her second husband, Cleston Hackett, her daughter, Iris Safriet, her sisters, Cora Yates and Ruby Kennedy, and her brother, C. O. Yates. Mrs. Hackett is survived by her sons, Calvin Thompson and wife, Patty, of Asheboro, NC, Walter Thompson, of Asheboro, NC, Dwight Thompson and wife, Ada, of Wagner, SC; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am - 11:00 am Saturday, October 6, 2012, at Ridge Funeral Home.
