Vera Clark

Vera Mae Chaney Clark, 79, of Asheboro, died Thursday, November 5, 2015 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 8, 2015, at Mt. Calvary Independent Baptist Church, Asheboro, NC, with Rev. Neil Poole officiating. Burial will follow at Farmer Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Asheboro. A native of Rockingham Co., NC, Mrs. Clark was born March 29, 1936, the daughter of the late Jack and Nora Bullins Chaney. She attended Mt. Calvary Independent Baptist Church and was the former co-owner, with her husband, of Allen's Gulf. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved her family. She was a hard working woman who was the glue that held her family together. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Clark was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Clark, Jr., her daughter, Sheila Privette, and brothers, Charlie Chaney and James Chaney. She is survived by her daughters, Teresa Fore and husband, Tim, of Asheboro, Debra Clark and friend, Clinton Walker, of Lexington; son, Terry Clark and wife, Connie, of Asheboro; sisters, Lucille Bullins and husband, Ronnie, of Stoneville, Ann Hicks and husband, Donald, of Kernersville; brothers, Earl Chaney and wife, Betty, of Summerfield, Freddy Chaney and wife, Peggy, of Walnut Grove;, grandchildren, A. J. Privette (Hannah), Cindy Oakes (Allen), Dana Hamilton (Yfke), Brandon Hilton, Heather Richmond (Josh), Kim Prater (Jacob), Kelly Clark, Katie Weidman (Kyle), Tiffany Fore (Bryan); nine great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, November 7, 2015, at Ridge Funeral Home, Asheboro, and other times at the home of Teresa and Tim Fore, 1182 Oakland Avenue, Asheboro, NC.
