Velma Campbell

Minister Velma Evon McNeill Campbell, 66, of Asheboro, died Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, October 30, 2016, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tony Bulter officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Born May 16, 1950 in Randolph County, Mrs. Campbell was the daughter of the late Rosa and James McNeill. In 1986 she graduated from Randolph Community College with her CNA and then stayed home to be a homemaker. Mrs. Campbell earned her certificate in ministry in 2003. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Keith Charles McNeill; brothers, Tommie and Edward McNeill. She is survived by her husband, Willie Louis Campbell of the home; daughters, Sacha Danielle Campbell Brower (Donald) of Asheboro, Octavia Camille Campbell Fulton (Marcus) of Winston-Salem; son, Willie James Campbell (Lisa) of Myrtle Beach, SC; her daughter-in-law, RaMona McNeill of Beckley, WV; sister, Lillian McGregor of Pinehurst; brother, Charles Jerome McNeill of Asheboro; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home, prior to the service.
