Vella Mae Ingold

Mrs. Vella Mae Tucker Ingold, 82, of Asheboro, NC, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2014, at her home surrounded by her family. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Sunday, March 30, 2014, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Billy Jarrett and Kathy Jarrett officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Asheboro. Born Christmas Eve 1931, Vella Mae was the youngest child of Esau Leland Tucker and Bertha Hodge Tucker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Elsie Tucker, Glenn Tucker and sisters, Edith Spoon and Gertha Garner. She was the ultimate homemaker who did it all, from raising a family, being a caregiver, cooking, sewing, crafts, farming and everything in between. She especially enjoyed the years pouring molds and doing ceramics and craft shows. Her greatest love was her family. Mrs. Ingold is survived by her husband of 63 years, Alvah "Jimmy" Ingold, of the home; daughter, Patricia Ingold-Wright and husband, Jim of Asheboro; sons, Ronald Ingold, Terry Ingold and wife, Debbie, all of Asheboro, sister, Thelma Brown, and husband, Earl, of Asheboro; grandsons, Jeremy Ingold (Stefanie), Matthew Ingold (Katy), Travis Ingold; and great granddaughters, Amber Ingold and Lily Ingold. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Saturday, March 29, 2014, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
