Mr. Tyler Ray Bivens, 60, of Asheboro, NC, entered into eternal life on Saturday, January 11, 2014, at his home. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Saturday, January 18, 2014, at the Ridge Funeral home Chapel with Bishop J. Harold Williams, Rev. Dexter Trogdon and Rev. Jeanette Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Asheboro. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mr. Bivens was born February 13, 1953. He was the son of the late Tyler Blair Bivens and Lizzie Medley Bivens. Tyler attended school in Asheboro and was employed at Energizer for 35 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and playing golf. Tyler was a hard worker. He was a giving person that would offer help to anyone and not expect anything in return. He loved God and his family dearly. Those left to cherish his memories are his wife and companion of 35 years, Linda Bivens, of the home; stepdaughter, Tammy Cheek; son, Johnny Street and wife, April; brothers, Jackie Bivens, of PA, Carl Bivens, of Asheboro, NC; sisters, Elizabeth Bivens Pickett, of High Point, NC, Catherine Bivens Smith, of Asheboro, NC, Cynthia Bivens Butler, and husband, Jerome, of Asheboro, NC; grandchildren, Kameron Tinnin, Jenee Street, Monet Street, Jovannie Street; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm Saturday, January 18, 2014, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
