Trudy Herring

Trudy Simmons Herring, 63, of Asheboro, passed away on Thursday, August 16, 2018, at the Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Trudy was born on November 1, 1954, in Hamlet, NC, to the late Richard C. and Leonelle Cooke Simmons. She grew up on a farm in Robeson County along with her two sisters and brother. She attended Fairmont City Schools, Robeson Community College and Richmond Community College. She had worked at Golden Waffle and P & J Diner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Richard "Dick" Simmons and a sister, Patricia Simmons Kinlaw Millard. She is survived by her sister, Joyce Simmons Singletary (Worth); daughter, Angela Herring Washington (Robert Evans); son, Jonathan Hardin (Amanda); granddaughters, Keisha, Trinity, London; grandson, Mitchell; and great grandchildren, Zayda and Zamauri. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 18, 2018, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, 908 Albemarle Road, Asheboro, with Rev. Jason Bowser officiating.
