Howard Tony Stutts, 69, of Denton, passed away peacefully, Sunday, June 28, 2026, at his home with his family, after a seven year battle with pulmonary fibrosis.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, 908 Ablemarle Road, Asheboro, with Pastor Fred Huffstetler officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park.
Tony was born on November 4, 1956, in Randolph County. He was a graduate of Asheboro High School. Tony worked for his uncle Bruce Spencer, painting for years and then eventually contracting on his own. He was an awesome painter and had over 45 years of experience for his craft. He enjoyed talking on the phone and watching the weather channel. He was an avid fan of many sports; he loved NASCAR and racing, UNC Carolina Basketball, and the Boston Red Sox. Tony was a fantastic bowler and was very proud of his several perfect 300 games. Tony will be remembered for living life to the fullest and enjoying his time on Earth and with his family.
Tony was preceded in death by his father, Tommy Stutts; and his mother, Shirley Spencer Stutts.
He is survived by his son, Tony Stutts, Jr. and wife Lori; stepmother, Julia Stutts; sister, Tammie S. Walker and husband Mike and children, Nick Craig, Nicole Brewer and husband Blake and children, Max and Sloan; brother, Terry Stutts and wife Karma and children, Leann and Madie; half-sisters, Torey S. Leonard and husband Hayden and daughter Layla, Jada Stutts; aunts, Mae Anderson, Pearlie Robbins, Frances Lambert; cousins, Patsy, Rhondalynn, Marcel, Michele, and Deanna.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m., Thursday, at Ridge Funeral Home, prior to the service.
