Thomas "Tommy" Jackson Wilson, 84, of Asheboro, died Thursday, November 24, 2016 at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 28, 2016, at the Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Mason officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery with military honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. A native of Chatham Co., NC, Mr. Wilson was born August 30, 1932, the last son of 12 children of the late Charlie and Iona Brown Wilson. He enjoyed antique cars, working with wood and collecting coins. He was a devoted family man. Mr. Wilson is a veteran of the US Army having served in the Korean War. Survivors include his sons, Tommy G. Wilson, of Hueytown, AL, Rickey D. Wilson and wife, April, of Asheboro, Thomas J. Wilson II and wife, Melissa, of Liberty, John C. Wilson, of Winston-Salem, Stephen R. Wilson, of Asheboro; sisters, Josephine W. McPherson, of Asheboro, Illa W. Hunt and husband, Harlan, of Albemarle, Lorene W. Holt and husband, Allen, of Franklinville, Barbara W. Pierce and husband, Wayne, of Asheboro; and nine grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Ridge Funeral Home, and other times at the home.
