Mr. Thomas Richard McDonald, Jr., 72, of Asheboro, NC, died Monday, January 6, 2014, at Randolph Hospital. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Friday, January 10, 2014, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Armstrong officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Memorial Gardens, in Asheboro, NC . A native of Randolph County, NC, Mr. McDonald was born August 11, 1941. He was the son of the late Thomas Richard McDonald and Beulah Agnes Bowden McDonald. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding in the country. He enjoyed woodworking and tinkering. He was retired from R.W. McCollum Co., in Greensboro. In addition to his parents, Mr. McDonald was preceded in death by his brother, Paul McDonald, and his sister, Mae Hill. Mr. McDonald is survived by his wife, Susan McDonald, of the home; daughters, Teresa Ann McDonald Chriscoe and husband, William, of Level Cross, NC, Colleen Marie Trivett and husband, Jeff, of Denton, NC; sisters, Mary Law and husband, George, of Liberty, NC, Sally "Sissy" Lawson and husband, Clay, of Lexington, NC, six grandchildren, six great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm Friday, January 10, 2014, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
