Rodney Todd Walker, 62, of Asheboro, NC, died Friday, January 18, 2019 at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted 4:00 p.m., Monday, January 21, 2019, at Hopewell Friends Meeting, Asheboro, with Rev. Mike Butler, Rev. Ricky Sessoms and Elder Wayne Gravely officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A native of Richmond Co., NC, Mr. Walker was born August 26, 1956, the son of the late Denzil and Mary Edith Allred Walker. He was a graduate of Southwestern Randolph High School, had worked at Energizer Battery Co., and was a member of Hopewell Friends Meeting where he was a former member of the Quaker Men. Todd always faced life with a lot of humor. He encouraged others and never complained. In his young life he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and his favorite was golfing with his buddies. His church family could always laugh at his Sunday morning jokes. Todd's greatest love was the time he spent with his family, especially his greatest treasure, his three grandsons. In addition to his parents, Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his sister, Tawana Walker Thorp. Mr. Walker is survived by his wife, Joy Craven Walker, of the home; daughter, Aubrie Walker Gravely and husband, Bruce; grandsons, Ethan Gravely, Eli Gravely, Easton Gravely; and several nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, January 20, 2019, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to The MS Foundation, 6520 N.
