Tillman Shaw

William Tillman Shaw, 84, of Asheboro, died Tuesday, December 24, 2019 at Woodland Hill Center in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 29, 2019, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, with Chaplain Dwight Ayres officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery with military honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. Tillman was born on February 5, 1935 in Randolph Co. to the late Joseph Wilson Shaw and Bertha Nellie Harman Shaw. He owned and operated Shaw Sanitation for 50 years. Mr. Shaw was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and had served in the Korean War. In addition to his parents, Mr. Shaw is preceded in death by his wife Marie Poindexter Shaw; brothers, Joseph Ray Shaw and Robert Lee Shaw. He is survived by his daughters, Karen A. Cox of Cedar Falls, Susie S. Clark and husband James of Cedar Falls; sons, William Mark Shaw and wife Melissa, Shawn Lee Shaw and wife Amy of Cedar Falls; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Ridge Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Saturday, December 28, 2019.
