Thurman Davis

Mr. Thurman Mason Davis, 88, of Asheboro, NC, died Tuesday, January 3, 2012, at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home after a few months of declining health. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Friday, January 6, 2012, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Richard Crider officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro. Mr. Davis was born October 16, 1923. He was the son of the late Fred Davis and Dora Johnson Davis. He was retired from Center Plumbing and Heating and did plumbing service work after retirement until the age of 84. He was a member of Oakhurst Baptist Church, past Sunday school teacher, enjoyed working and especially gardening. In addition to his parents, Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruby Lucas Davis, his second wife, Bernice Skeen Davis, his brother, Jerry Davis, and his sister, Edith Davis Kiser. Mr. Davis is survived by his daughter, Ruth Luck and husband, Robert, of Asheboro, NC; son, Roger Davis, and wife, Cherie, of Asheboro, NC; brother, Reid Davis, of Screven, GA; grandchildren, Brian Luck, Brandin Davis, Kevin Davis; step grandson, Jacob Parrish; and three great grandchildren, all of Asheboro. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm Friday, January 6, 2012, at Ridge Funeral Home. The family would like to express a special thank you to Mr. Davis' nurses and staff at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home and Carillon Assisted Living for their special care.
