Thomas Marvin Jones

Mr. Thomas Marvin "Tom" Jones, 84, of Asheboro, NC, died Sunday, June 29, 2014, at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home. A funeral service is scheduled for 3:00 pm Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Drew McIntyre officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro. Mr. Jones was born August 1, 1929. He was the son of the late Marvin Thomas Jones and Ina Haywood Jones. Mr. Jones served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was retired from Ramtex and was a long time resident of Randolph County. Mr. Jones was an avid fisherman who loved gardening and traveling in his motor home. Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Thelma Louise Sykes Jones; daughter, Tommie Jones Best and husband, Stephen, of Atlanta, GA; sisters, Helen Brown and husband, Ralph, of Salisbury, NC, Lib Beane, of Asheboro, NC; grandchildren, Nick Best and Madison Best, both of Atlanta, GA. The family will receive friends from 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at Ridge Funeral Home.
