Thomas Edison "Tommy" Forester, Jr., 78, of Asheboro, died Friday, June 23 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Funeral services will conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 26, 2017, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Asheboro, with Rev. Lynda Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. A native of Wilkes Co., NC, Mr. Forester was born May 8, 1939, the son of the late Thomas, Sr., and Billie Dalton Forester. He was a carpet installer, a member of the Masons, and had served in the National Guard. He loved to watch sports, especially NASCAR and UNC Tarheels. He enjoyed visiting friends and speaking to people at nursing homes. He especially loved giving ice cream and honey buns to his granddaughter. Survivors include his sons, Chip Forester and husband, Bennie of Birmingham, AL, Chris Forester and wife, Allison, of Asheboro; sisters, Bobbie Hitch and husband, Myron, of Chatsworth, CA, Ann Schwarz, of Asheboro; granddaughter, Emma Kate Forester; special friends, James and Betty Moran, and Ken and Jan McFadden. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, June 25, 2017, at Ridge Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph, PO Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204.
