Tena Stone

Tena Renae Merrill Stone, 69, of New London, NC, died Friday, September 11, 2026, at Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro.

Memorial services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Friday, September 18, 2026, at Crestview Wesleyan Church, Asheboro,with Pastor Jam Patterson officiating.

Born on February 28, 1957, in Thomasville, NC, Mrs. Stone was the daughter of the late James Lester and Nancy Younts Merrill. She had attended Thomasville High School and was the previous owner of Williamsburg Paint Company of Thomasville. Working in the yard and spending time at Badin Lake were some of her favorite things to do. But most of all she loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughters, Stephanie Branson (Chad) of Asheboro, Ashley Gallimore (Justin) of Thomasville; sister, Rhonda Kindley (David Henry) of Trinity; grandchildren, Bella Branson, Coen Branson, Jaxon Gallimore, Jeryt Gallimore; best friends and loving caregivers, Joy "Gi" Kelly, Susan Lee, and Tonya Denton.

The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
