Sylvia "Ann" Hayes Sparks, 71, of Asheboro, gained her wings on May 20, 2020. Ann passed peacefully at home surrounded by her family. It is hard to pay tribute and find the words to describe such a genuinely wonderful woman. Ann had a heart of pure gold and will be missed by so many. "To know her, was to love her". Ann was born on March 16, 1949, in Guilford County to the late Thomas and Vera Hayes. Ann was a faithful employee and retired from the Randolph County Health Department, where she met her life long best friend, Carolyn. Ann was married to the love of her life, David for over 50 years and they made a beautiful life together. Ann is survived by her son, William and wife Hannah of the home and grandson, Colt "her pride and joy". Ann is also survived by her siblings, Barbara (Michael) Auman of Seagrove. Greg (Maggie) Hayes of Level Cross, Allen (Kathy) Owens of Thomasville; brother-in-law, Ronnie (Jackie) Sparks of Lexington; beloved nieces and nephews, Brianne, Benjamin, Gregory, John, April, a great niece and nephews; as well as numerous relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Ann is preceded in death by her loving husband, David and her brother, Larry Hayes of Seattle, Washington. The family will receive friends at the The Harvest House (open air, practicing social distancing) on Saturday, May 23, 2020, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The family would like to extend sincere appreciation to Community Hospice and nurses, Deanna, Denise, and Bobbi.
