Sue Carol Barnes

Mrs. Sue Carol Lucas Barnes, 70, of 143 Three B Road, died Friday, October 15, 2010, at Randolph Hospital. A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am Tuesday, October 19, 2010, at the Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Richard Kirby officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mrs. Barnes was born December 17, 1939. She was retired from Eveready Battery and was a member of Julian Hill Primitive Baptist Church. She enjoyed shopping, cooking, especially desserts, and was a huge Elvis Presley fan. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to everyone. She was very generous and always gave more to others. Mrs. Barnes was preceded in death by her father, John Burgess Lucas, and her brother, Wiley Lucas. Surviving are her husband, Jerry Barnes; son, Todd Barnes, of Asheboro, mother, Myrtle King Lucas, of the home; grandson, Jimmy Barnes, of Asheboro; sisters-in-law, Carlene Lucas, Debbie Auman, both of Asheboro; brothers-in-law, Ken Barnes, of Wilmington, NC, Phil Barnes, of Columbia, SC; nephews, Derek Lucas and wife Angela, Darin Lucas, Daniel Auman, Phil Barnes, Jr.; nieces, Stacey Auman, Angela Clifton; and great nephews, Braxton Lucas and Caleb Lucas. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Monday, October 18, 2010, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph, P.O.
