Steven Dickinson

Steven Russell Dickinson, 62, of Mebane, North Carolina, passed Friday, November 27th peacefully in his home in Mebane. Memorial Services will be held at Ridge Funeral Home at 5:00 p.m., Saturday, December 5th, 2015. Family and friends are welcome to attend and share personal memories. Military Honors will be provided by the Honor Guard. A traveler of the world, and current resident of Mebane, North Carolina, Steve was born 1 February, 1953 to Russell Dickinson and Connie Frick. He was an Engineer by trade, and held a genuine passion for woodworking throughout his life. He Enlisted in the United States Army in 1971, continuing a long family tradition of military service. He deployed in direct support of Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, as well as Operation Just Cause. He earned the rank Sergeant First Class, and retired Honorably in 1991. He was a dedicated, loving, and jovial man, who placed his family and friends before himself. Steve was survived by, but not limited to his sons, Jame Dickinson of Durham, and Sean Dickinson of Pasadena, MD; Daughters-in-law Misty Dickinson of Durham, and Terri Dickinson of Pasadena, MD; Father, Russell Dickinson of Port Huron, MI, and Mother Connie Frick of Christmas, FL, and Step-Mother, Helen Johnson of Port Huron, MI; brothers, David Dickinson, of Christmas, FL, Chucky Dickinson, of St. Cloud, FL; sisters, Vicky McDowell, of Hinesville, GA, and Linda Hughes, of Port Huron, MI; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. The family will receive friends and family immediately following the Memorial Service on Saturday, December 5th, 2015 at Ridge Funeral Home.
