Steven Lee Blanton

Steven Lee Blanton, 57, of Star, died Sunday, September 18, 2016 at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 22, 2016, at Big Oak Church of God, Star with Rev. Terry Godwin officiating. Burial will follow at Beane Family Cemetery with military honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. Born January 13, 1959 in Lumberton, NC, Mr. Blanton was the son of the late Burnie and Hattie Blanton. He worked as a carpenter and served in the US Army. Mr. Blanton loved golf and spending time at the beach. He was known for his smile and saying he was "blessed and highly favored". Mr. Blanton is survived by his wife, Julie Blanton of the home; daughter, Renee Goins and husband, Luke of Star; sons, Joseph Britt and Timothy Britt, both of Star, Joshua Blanton of Wilmington; sisters, Beverly Blanton of Wilmington, Dianna Wigington, Wanda Mauldin and husband, Eddie, all of Asheboro, Barbara Cribb and husband, Robert of Wagram; brother, Jack Blanton and wife, Sandy of Lynchburg, VA; and grandchildren, Kelsie Britt, Jayden Tilley, Aryan Goins, River Goins, Payton Britt, Mason Britt, Lacey Britt, Brayden Britt, Tristin Goins, Ethan Goins and Kara Goins.
