Steve York

Steve George York, 75, of Asheboro, went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 6, 2017 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 16, 2017, at Russell's Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Fonner officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Born March 3, 1942 in Randolph County, Mr. York was the son of the late Jesse and Lillian York. He was a loving and awesome father. Mr. York was a evangelist, he lived his life for the Lord and leading others to the Lord. He retired from Georgia-Pacific and later from Goodyear. He loved panning for gold. Mr. York had enjoyed making candles and picking blackberries. Survivors include his daughters, Sandra York Brown and husband, Tim of Asheboro, Stephanie Georgette York; son, Steve Jesse York and wife, Tonya of Asheboro; stepsons, David Royal of Franklinville, Stacey Royal of N. Wilkesboro; grandchildren, Joshua Rice, Jesse York and Autumn Williamson; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Thursday from 1-2 p.m. at Russell's Grove Baptist Church, prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph County, PO Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204.
