Shirley Voncannon Latham

Mrs. Shirley Ann Voncannon Latham, 67, of Asheboro, NC, died Monday, January 9, 2012, at her mother's home. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Friday, January 13, 2012, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clay Davis and Rev. Tim Fonner and officiating. Burial will follow at Russell's Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Asheboro. A native of Guilford County, NC, Mrs. Latham was born August 30, 1944. She was the daughter of Treva Irene East Voncannon and the late Edward Matthew Voncannon. She was employed by Kayser-Roth for 38 years and was of the Baptist faith. She was a loving wife, mother and daughter. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Garland Voncannon. Mrs. Latham is survived by her husband, Carl Latham, of the home; son, Gene Latham, of the home; mother, Treva Greene, of Asheboro; and sisters, Juanita Loflin, Gail Corder, both of Asheboro. The family will receive friends from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm Thursday, January 12, 2012, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
