Shirley Ritter Dehart

Shirley Mae Ritter DeHart, 81, of Asheboro, NC, died Thursday, October 11, 2018 at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 15, 2018, at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Asheboro, with Pastor Roger Price officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A native of Montgomery Co., NC, Mrs. DeHart was born August 22, 1937, the daughter of the late Robert Lloyd and Maggie Williams Ritter. She was retired from Acme-McCrary and was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. Mama loved to vacation at White Lake and fishing at Carolina Beach where we all have lots of memories to cherish. Mama loved gardening and her flowers. She always had lots of hummingbirds and butterflies to watch. Mama was loving and caring to all she met. She was a wonderful mother. Surviving are her daughters, Melody King and husband, Bruce, Tina Lassiter and husband, Dennis, all of Asheboro; son, Kenneth Webster, of Asheboro; grandchildren, Lynn Baker, Danelle Lassiter, Nikki Bowan, Mattie Soto, Brittany Brafford, Candace Woods, Celine Lassiter; great grandchildren, Keegan, Daniel, Haley, Abel, Oliver, Bentley, Lydia, Lacie, Naomi; sisters, Brenda Boyd, Dot Hunt, both of Asheboro; and brother, Archie Ritter, of Asheboro The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, October 14, 2018, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1893, Memphis, TN 38101. The family would like to mention the exceptional care that was given by her sister and nieces that visited, cooked, traveled, cleaned, and showed so much love. Thanks to StayWell Senior Care for such good care and Home Health Care Aide Carol Reynolds Harris who has become family during mama's illness.
