Shelby Jean Callicutt

Mrs. Shelby Jean Boyte Callicutt, 76, of Troy, NC, died Thursday, September 11, 2014, at her home. A funeral service is scheduled for 3:00 pm Sunday, September 14, 2014, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Stan Layton and Pastor Brantley Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Callicutt Memorial Church Cemetery in Asheboro. A native of Moore County, Mrs. Callicutt was born March 11, 1938. She was the daughter of the late Wesley Tillman Boyte and Annie Margaret Oldham Boyte. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Polly Mashburn, and Shirley Marsh. Mrs. Callicutt is survived by her husband, James Lewis Callicutt, of the home; daughters, Pamela Lynthacum, of West End, NC, Diane Mercado, of Troy, NC, Patricia McCormick and husband, Barry, of Ellerbe, NC; sons, Wesley McKenzie and wife, Sherry, of Rockingham, NC, Mike McKenzie and wife, Diane, of Ellerbe NC, Lee McKenzie and wife, Beth, of Troy, NC; stepdaughters, Cindy Pearson and husband, Cliff, of Conway, NC, Inge Cheshire and husband, Wayne, of Wilmington, NC, Dawn Horan, of High Point, NC, Vickie Jennings and husband, Jackie, of Franklinville, NC; stepsons, Wayne Callicutt and wife, Marcelle of Asheboro, NC; Roger Callicutt and wife, Betty, of Asheboro, NC; sister, Nellie Peele, of Carthage, NC; 16 grandchildren;12 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren The family will receive friends from 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm Sunday, September 14, 2014, at Ridge Funeral Home.
