Mrs. Serita Timmons gently and peacefully earned her wings and took flight to her eternal home on Wednesday, November 16, 2022. Serita was born in Asheboro NC on November 22, 1958 to the late Mr. Robert Dell McCaskill and Leola McCauley. She graduated from Asheboro High School in 1977 and then attended Randolph Community College for Business Administration. Serita was employed by Prestige Fabricators as a supervisor until retiring in 2020.
“Gita”, as she was affectionately called by her grandchildren, dedicated her life to Christ at an early age, and was a lifelong member of St. Stephen AME Church, Liberty, NC, joining under the pastoral ship and guidance of Reverend Lee M. Williamson. Serita served her church in many capacities as a faithful supporter financially and spiritually until her passing. Serita spent her life by giving service to others and until her last breath, had the heart of a servant. Serita exemplified a warm glow of personality and quintessential nature! Her positive mannerisms, courage and her desire to reach out to others in their time of need made her an inspiration to all.
She believed in family and held them in high esteem. She didn’t mind sharing how proud she was of her children and grandchildren; praying over them and for them daily.
The remembrance of shared moments brings comfort and peace to her surviving relatives: Husband, Bill Timmons of the home; Children: son, Marchello Timmons (Tasha) of Asheboro, NC; and daughters, Leola Craven (Aaron) of Franklinville NC, Lakeisha Timmons of Los Angeles, CA; Pride and Joy, her grandchildren: Jalial, Tashaun, Taraji, and Karter; Siblings, sister, Georgia Harris of Asheboro NC; brothers, Robert McCaskill Jr. (Vanessa) of Rockingham NC, Lee McCaskill (Cathy) of New Jersey, Ronald McCaskill (Jacqueline) of Raleigh NC, and Larry McCaskill of Raleigh NC. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends whom she shared her love with and they loved her just as much!
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 21, 2022, at St. Stephen AME Church, Liberty, with Rev. Denzel Goodlin. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Asheboro.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at the church prior to the service.
