Selma Sheffield

Mrs. Selma Lee Robbins Sheffield, 86, of Asheboro, NC, died Saturday, May 10, 2014, at Randolph Hospital. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Saturday, May 17, 2014, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bruce Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Charlotte United Methodist Church Cemetery in Asheboro. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mrs. Sheffield was born November 25, 1927. She was the daughter of the late Carson Robbins and Lillian Canoy Robbins. She had worked in several hosiery mills and was a homemaker. She attended Antioch Baptist Church. She loved gardening and animals. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Sheffield; sons, Gary Auman, David Auman; grandson, Charlie Auman; and brothers. Hobart Robbins and Kyle Robbins. Mrs. Sheffield is survived by sons, Robert Auman, and wife Peggy, of Lumberton, NC, Willis Auman and wife, Betty, of Pleasant Garden; stepdaughter, Linda Brannon, of Cassatt, SC, Mary Sue Sheffield, of Southern Pines, NC; stepson, Larry Sheffield and wife, Judy, of Asheboro; sisters, Metta Hartley, Mildred Robbins, both of Sophia, NC, Mona Albrecht and husband, Don, of Topeka, KS; half brother, Joel Robbins and wife, Clara, of Asheboro, NC; six grandchildren, three step grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m on Saturday, May 17, 2014, at Ridge Funeral Home.
