Sarah Lambert Oxendine Smith, 71, of Bennettsville, SC, formerly of Asheboro, died Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at McLeod Health Hospital in Florence, SC. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Larry Spaulding officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park. Born February 28, 1945 in Lumberton, NC, Mrs. Smith was the daughter of the late Ezekiel and Lucinda Lambert. She had worked at Brookstone Haven and Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home. She enjoyed gardening and cooking. She is survived by her husband, Vern Smith of the home; daughter, Sherry Jordan of Asheboro; son, Ricky Oxendine of Sophia, Wade Oxendine and wife, Tina, of Randleman; one brother; grandchildren, Hallie Oxendine, Tori Oxendine, Shela Jordan, Victor Oxendine; and great-grandchildren, Silas, Serenity and Sheyenne. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, Sherry Jordan.
