Sarah Burris Davis

Sarah Thelma Burris Davis, 92, of Asheboro, passed away on Friday, January 1, 2016 at the Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, January 3, 2016, in the Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gerald Hussey officiating. Private entombment will be at Randolph Memorial Park. Born in Stanly County on February 13, 1923, Mrs. Davis was the daughter of the late Eugene and Essie Henson Burris. She was employed with Klopman Mills and retired from Mid State Box. She was a member of Central Falls Baptist Church. She was known for her beautiful flower gardens and warm smile. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband, Jeff Otis Davis and her brothers, Julius Burris and Grant Burris. Surviving are her daughter, Dremia Meier and husband, David, of Asheboro; son, JB Davis and wife, Claire, of Asheboro; grandchildren, Jeff Davis, of Asheboro, Rad Davis and wife, Anita, of Franklinville, Carrie Rice and husband, Chris, of Asheboro, Lynn Lewis and husband, Scott, of Raleigh; great-grandchildren, Davis, Tedder, Ava Claire, Ivy, Justice, Anna, Katie, Camille; sisters, Margaret Curley, of Charlotte, Rosa Barbee, of Oakboro, Marene Burris, of Asheboro; brother, Carl Burris, of Albemarle; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, January 3, 2016 at Ridge Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph, P.O.
