Mrs. Sara Alford Allred, 78, of Denton, NC, died Saturday, October 25, 2014, at Universal Healthcare in Concord. A graveside service is scheduled for 3:00 pm Wednesday, October 29, 2014, at Jackson Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. A native of Horry County, SC, Mrs. Allred was born November 26, 1935. She was the daughter of the late Harmon Leon Alford and Thelma McDowell Herndon. She was retired from Thomasville Furniture and was a sales consultant for Mary Kay. She enjoyed researching her family history and spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hollis E. Allred. Mrs. Allred is survived by her daughters, Malinda Dry and husband,Gerry, of Mt. Pleasant, NC, Carol J. Allred, of High Point; son, Jesse Allred and wife, Anna, of Asheboro; sister, Doris Headberg, of Ocala, FL; brothers, James Alford, of Hialeah, FL, Michael Alford, of Mt. Airy, NC; grandchildren, Jeromy Allred and wife, Jenny, Jessica Allred, Jacob Butler, Wesley Dry and wife, Andrea, William Dry, Whitaker Dry, Caitlin Dry; and great grandchildren, Riley Allred and Jaxson Allred. The family will receive friends following the graveside service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Randolph County Honor Guard, P.O. Box, 1672, Asheboro, NC 27204.
