Sandra Joann Cox Bunting, 83, of Asheboro, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2022, at Alpine Health and Rehabilitation in Asheboro.
A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at First Baptist Church in Franklinville, where she was a member, with Rev. Steven Cox officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Sandra was born on July 20, 1939, in Randolph County to the late P.A. Cox and Louise Saunders Cox. She graduated from Franklinville High School in 1957. Sandra retired from Jockey International after 20 years of service. She and her husband, Harvey, were the owners of Earth and Fire Pottery for 12 years. She was a seamstress, a wonderful cook, and enjoyed playing the piano. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and granny.
In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Bunting; brothers, Bryan Cox, Lacy "Punk" Cox, Carlton Cox; sisters, Sue Blackburn, and Carol Watkins.
She is survived by her children, Connie Wicker and husband John of Asheboro, Barrie Bunting and wife Cami of Asheboro, Amy Lamb and husband Brian of Seagrove; grandchildren, Ashley Hutton and husband Justin of Randleman, Tyler Wicker of Charlotte, Abby Craven and husband Luke of Seagrove, Ally Lamb of Denton, Maci Bunting of Asheboro, Luke Bunting of Asheboro; and great grandchild, Josie Lou Craven.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, September 19, 2022, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Beth Hodges, the wonderful staff at Alpine Health and Rehab, and Amedisys Hospice of Burlington for the excellent care given to Sandra.
